Monique has been on staff at Mercer Island Veterinary Clinic since March, 1997. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Washington, and serves as a technician as well as the Hospital Manager for the clinic. Her special interests are applied animal behavior of all species (particularly wild animals), and proactive preventive medical care.
Outside of the clinic, Monique enjoys teaching classes for dogs and their owners in obedience, agility and Rally obedience. Her group classes are held at Seattle Agility Center. Monique also offers private consultations in obedience and behavior modification for dogs and cats.
Monique's pets include 3 dogs: Paddy, Magick, and Zora, 3 cats: Charlie, Gershwin and Ziggy, and a Bullsnake named Agador. She competes in obedience, Rally obediece, agility and herding with her dogs, and enjoys spending time at the beach, hiking and camping with her husband Bruce and furry family. In April, 2008, Monique had to say goodbye to her 16-year-old Shih Tzu, Allie, and misses her terribly.
A clarinetist and vocalist, Monique enjoys music, reading, crosswords, learning new things, making new friends and is working on her first book.
